  I did the 3 hour walking tour with our guide, Sandy. The tour was interesting and gave a lot of background on the history of Alton, which tied into ghost stories and sightings in the town. This tour brought you into the buildings it was talking about (the first Unitarian church, the mineral springs hotel, and an apartment basement that was used as a stop on the Underground Railroad) and allowed you to look around and get the vibe of the place. I would definitely recommend this tour to someone who is interested in history. The only downside was our tour group was quite large and some people seemed very over the tour after about an hour.
